London Phoenix members Richard Marston, David Steele and Abigail Armstrong recently spent a successful and enjoyable week in the French Alps taking part in L’Oisan Bike week starting with the Vaujany Cyclosportive on 3rd July – 171KM & 3,850m of climbing and culminating in the mythical Marmotte Cyclosportif (joined by Francis Cooper), covering 174 Km and over 5000m of climbing including the infamous Galibier and Alpe d’Huez climbs.

We all successfully completed these gruelling events with Gold standard! In between the two events we had the opportunity to explore many of the other local alpine climbs and learn fluent Dutch thanks to the thousands of lowlanders that invaded the Oisan area for the week.
