A total of nine London Phoenixes raced the varied and demanding course for six hours at the Enduro 6 event at Catton Park on 27 April 2008. Some had also raced the night-time time trial the previous evening. This was the first of the season’s mountain bike team events – other ones to look forward to include the Bristol Bikefest, Mountain Mayhem and Bonty24-12. Some of the riders are pictured below, more photos to follow on the off-road page.

Eleven Phoenix riders took part in the London League 2007/8, which stretched from our promoting round 1 in September to winding up the league at Dunsfold in February, our riders battled all winter long. New member Stuart Jones finished 8th in the seniors, Neil and Stuart finished 7th and 8th in the veterans and Emma came 5th in the women’s category.
The cross season demands dedication to racing on most sunday’s througout the winter in all weather conditions and on a wide variety of courses. It was a very successful season, and we look forward to even better next year, when we plan to once again host round 1 and then race hard for the rest of the season, see you out there.

Phil and Liz bravely ventured north of the Watford gap to take part in Kilotogo’s Cheshire Cat sportive event last weekend. The £200 we spent on wet-weather gear, mud-guards etc. on the Saturday turned out to be well worth it in weather voodoo terms, as it ensured a beautiful spring day with long stretches of sunshine for the event on Sunday. At times we were cooking in our tights and overshoes. The route was lovely, with beautiful views of the Cheshire countryside, though unfortunately the sight of Mow Cop psyched Liz out before she’d even got to the steep bit. Still, if you’re not riding you can talk, so you can see the in-depth interview on Cyclosport TV (right at the end of Part 1).
We are a group of London-based cyclists, who get together for races and training rides. We have a website forum as our virtual clubhouse, and instead of regular weekly club rides from a set place we arrange to meet up for mountain bike, road or cyclocross rides, races and time trials from a variety of venues. We also meet up socially every month.
See the on-road and off-road sections for news on upcoming events we're doing as well as our recent achievements.
