Cyclocross training for newbies/recent starters
A number of people have expressed an interest in giving cyclocross a try,
so I’ve looked into getting us a coach for new starters or recent converts looking to improve their skills.
We have a coach available for an evening session (probably Thursday) at Hog Hill for 2-3 hours starting mid-late August. Ideally we’d have a group size of 6-10 people with training tailored to giving people the skills and confidence to get out there and give it a try. If there is sufficient interest, I’m happy to see if we can make this a regular session going into the season.
For now, I need to see the level of interest so it’s list time - who’s up for it?

For those not in the loop, there are also weekly sessions on Wednesday nights in Hackney Marshes, organised by our friends Russ Jones and Bruce Mackie. Starts at 7:00 PM and they're charging £3 to cover the cost of the coach. All are welcome.

This was why I figured to gear these sessions more towards beginners rather than a broader spectrum of riders. Might be a bit daunting turning up on the marshes to join people who've been doing it for years (well I'm apprehensive about joining them when I get back!).

chris, have no fear - the first one had a range of abilities, you'll not be embarrassed with your new found double hop jump land and repeat technique, i couldn't get off my bike let alone jump back on and this was not a problem. K
