Last Sunday saw London Phoenix members crawling out of their beds early on a Sunday morning to promote the first round of the SERRL Summer Series.

With 12 volunteers in total and 5 cars to provide to the race convoy, it was a great effort by the club on what was a grey and blustery day.

The race itself saw a 5-man break get away on the second lap and put 5 minutes into the peloton, proving that 5 people working together could outride a peloton of 30-40 riders that were not.

From the point of view of the organisers and marshals out on the course, the main thing was that everyone got around safely and there weren’t any issues with traffic.

A big thank you to SERRL and all the London Phoenix volunteers who made the effort to deliver a safe, well-organised race and support the grassroots of the sport.
