We went up (going down is usually frowned upon due to likelihood of accidents). However, what you can't really see from the pic is that you hit the first hurdle at 90 degrees from a muddy off-camber straight. On reflection it wasn't as bad as it looks but those hurdles were HIGH. Nearly as bad as the ones at Hog Hill!Simon Goodwin wrote:Both down and up options look evil, but I have to ask, which way was the direction of travel?StevenDrew wrote:Oh how we laughed at the hurdles on the hill...

Maybe he(?) likes racing against kids. It did look odd on Saturday as quite a few adults who got bumped rode against the kids.
Hurdles - always up or flat - anything else would be thrown out by the comms as too dangerous I'd imagine. That pic was definitely up - I managed that part of the lap before my chain broke!

Good call, Simon. You're way better than the novices and riding a proper race will be much more fun for you.Simon Goodwin wrote:Dan McQ and I are signed up for Letchworth on the 18th. Neil and Oren are in too. I was initially considering the Novice race as an easier option but was persuaded otherwise given the unlikely scenario that I did well. I note that the first guy to sign up for the Novice race (Botha) notched up 9 cross races last year (yet is still competing as a Novice) - may be good reasons but anyone know what that's all about?
Will probably also do Letchworth too given it's closer than Ipswich and the Eastern League is back at the same Ipswich course the following week.

At the MK Bowl earlier in the season I yelled at one the novice riders to get off the course as he over took Molly. I thought he was practising; didn't realise there was a muppet race going on

How long do CXL generally take in posting their results or am I looking in the wrong place?

It's sometimes been Weds or Thurs in the past. And I think they were having difficulties seeing the numbers in the mud on Saturday.DanielMcqueen wrote:How long do CXL generally take in posting their results or am I looking in the wrong place?

Re: Central CX League - 2014/15
The muppet race is an interesting Central league speciality at Hillingdon Connie had a hilarious too and through with a bloke who clearly didn't stint on the pies , though winner was clearly a pot hunter as would have held his own in senior race .
Results won't be out till end of week on past experience .
On subject of muppet races , when was looking likely wouldn't make Abergaveny was looking for a road race for this weekend and looks like Imperial gang are restricting field size to 50 even though is officially no limit for crits and circuit could cope with 100 plus easily also doing seperate 3 , 4 and 1/2 races so unless let 3s ride 1/2 is no way to escape muppets .
So will have to be 2/3 at Hogg Hill if Wales doesn't happen

Re: Central CX League - 2014/15
Draft V50 results out now. They look ok and I'm pretty confident I have the league overall in the bag even if I don't score at the final round. Lap times do show me giving up the will to live after lap two. Still I think a small pale ale is in order tonight.

I may be completely wrong Neil but you may want to check the 'draft' math re points for the guy in 2nd place.

Re: Central CX League - 2014/15
I've done the maths more than once. If mark booth wins the last round and drops a 70 he scores 450.
If Simon Hime wins the last round and drops a 70 he finishes on 455.
I have 466 already.

Ok - apologies for flagging that up then but I was looking here: http://centralcxl.org.uk/wp-content/upl ... ound-8.pdf which is the latest I've found but is presumably one round behind the figures you are referring to?
Anyway, I'm sure you're right so very well done for a stellar performance and enjoy your Pale Ale

Re: Central CX League - 2014/15
Those are the latest published rankings, I've added Saturday's points then added max points from the final round for the others. Trust me, I wouldn't be celebrating if I wasn't confident of the numbers. 466 points from a possible 480 for me.
