Central CX League - 2014/15

Post by StevenDrew » Sun Sep 21, 2014 9:55 pm

In the absence of any Eastern League next weekend, I've entered Round 1 of the Central League at Hillingdon.

Online entries here - https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/event ... eam-Quest) - and they close tomorrow. Also considering Milton Keynes the following weekend.

And bear in mind its a cat A - for the points chasers.

Shame it clashes with Herne Hill because these are two of my favourite venues. But the proximiy of Herne Hill for me wins out

Stuart/Steven - a brief side issue if I may - am I correct in that I don't need a different licence to my full BC road licence to race?

Thanks

Even a BC provisional is fine.In fact I think you can even buy a day licence if you're not a BC member

Yes - day licence is £3 I think. CX is designed to be inclusive.

The question is with the C2W forms being filled out now by the shop do I risk entering this...

How quickly do they sell out? (if at all)

It's £11 of risk. Or you could get there early. Don't know if CL sell out or not

Hillingdon is usually popular, what with it being London-ish. Also no Eastern League this weekend and London League is at Herne Hill which a lot of people don't like. I'd pre-enter.

Lots of bumpy grass track, normally a bit of Tarmac for the start/finish straight. No hills at all.

Herne hill is is much more fun IMO.

What Edwin said. Grassy and VERY bumpy when its dry. Pretty straightforward. I quite like it (mainly because I won there last season) but prefer Herne Hill too because its more technical.

For info, I'm going to affiliate the club to the Central League. If a few of us are going to race with them then I like the idea that we offer some support. It also means we'll get a ranking within their league structure.

Sunday's race at Hillingdon has been cancelled...
CANCELLED

It is with great regret that Team Quest have to cancel the event for tomorrow. This is due to circumstances outside of its control.

The event has been notified that it has no event commissaire available, without a commissaire the event cannot proceed. I am fully aware that it is very late notice but as a club it has been working with British Cycling to try and resolve this issue since Thursday. All avenues have been persued in trying to come to a solution with local league officials and regional BC officials.

We will Try to reschedule the event within the current season dependant on venue availability.

Riders entry fees will be refunded during this week. Once again Team Quest apologise for this outcome.

Regards,

Stephanie May, Mark Doel co-organisers for Team Quest.

Anyone keen to go on a CX ride instead tomorrow? Or are you all heading to Herne Hill?

And do we know more about the venue for the London League next weekend? Has it definitely been confirmed as Hog Hill (the calendar section hasn't been updated yet)?
