I can't be arsed to do any proper races right now but I'm doing this. Probably with a workmate on his MTB

Anyone else?

You'll race anything at Herne Hill, eh?

Sadly, I'll be in Birmingham so a no go for me. I also think I have whiplash after my bonce bounced on the ground at Snetterton.

Max and I are teaming up for a "don't call it a comeback" to race this. Funnily enough, HH was the last race both of us did before real life took over.

Great fun in the mud today! Very different from my previous two races at Herne Hill, where I got blisters on the bone dry and bumpy course. Nice and muddy today, plus slalom through a Christmas tree maze. Taking turns in a madison was also a great way to get back into racing after three months of DIY, as it meant resting (and clearing the mud) every other lap. And for two old men coming back from a stint in real life Len and I didn't too badly, taking 6th overall and 2nd vets.

Nice to see Bella battling the mud, too! Hope you'll get a proper bike soon so you won't have to spend your time running around the course with clogged up wheels! No sign of Stuart, sadly. I hope tonight's programme will compensate for the missed race!

Looking forward to Sunday at Bethlem Hospital!

Was a lot of fun and Max was a very able partner, putting in a blistering first lap to ensure we were already in the top 10. Taking alternate laps was painful, it made you red-line it from the get-go, there was no budgeting of effort.

Despite being a Go Race event, no one was giving an inch and the speed was as fast as ever. Indeed the U23 UK champ was sporting his distinctive top.

It was the best HH course I've seen, really fun and reminded me how exciting a good course can make things.

Good to see Bella saying she now wants to buy a cross bike! More vicarious shopping...

Sorry to say Len but Dan's jersey stripes were earned in the U16 category, and he's still young enough to win them again next weekend
