Connie was stormin' today. Hugo says it's something to do with courses and horses and she'll kick his butt again at WHW in Jan.

There's U10s - bring him along. We won't send the kids up the wall of shame. However if you sign up, you'll be riding it ;-)

Ok, I'll ask him. Bit of a toss up between this and the Christmas finale at Rugby. He's being scouted by Saracens.

Ok he's in. In his words "I need to do more races to get faster daddy".

So put me down for marshalling also, l shall most likely be riding up in the morning.

That was quite hard . Fairly muddy course with lots of grass and a couple of draggy climbs some rutted muddy sections and a rather nasty wooded section .

Managed to justify my gridding position but is quite pressured being out there alone for most of race . Bruce had a good ride and was catching me on last lap and making me work to the end though I was by that stage being even more cautious than normal . Feeling the effects now

Lots of muddy fun at Chantry park with a mini Trophy course and conditions to match. Pat and Andy got a good start and made the early running with Pat making his eventual escape on the biggest of the climbs. What followed was a lot of squabbling over second place with 4 different riders looking like it was going to be theirs. Eventually Andy started to flag and dropped back whilst Paul Watson took up the chasing, leaving Colin Newstead and I to try and get back up to him. We slowly reeled him in and, as we got to him, I attacked putting in a gap 2 laps from the end. Mud was starting to cause my bike problems and I could feel the rear mech starting to catch so had to pit to change bikes. Chucked my bike at a surprised looking Connie and went off in search of where I'd dumped my spare. By the time I got back out again I had to chase back and repeat the same attack again. I made it past Colin and Paul with 1/2 a lap to go but nowhere near catching the lone escapee. A great ride from Pat in classic cross conditions.

Getting lost in the pits - ah, so where did I leave that bike?! Very amusing!

Well done Pat! A win's a win! (Who won the V40s? - Mooney I hope, or was it yet another Aldous title?)
