Re: SE/Eastern CX Champs
Might be worth getting there earlyAll riders (mostly SE Region riders) who have previously taken part in this season’s London & SE League MUST bring the number and timing chip you normally use.
If you have lost yours, there WILL NOT be replacements available on the day, unless you notify wxwright@msn.com by noon on Sat 3rd Dec. Riders who do not bring theirs may not be allowed to compete. Handwritten numbers, and blue ‘F-numbers’ may not be used.
Riders (mostly those from East Region) who have no number or timing chip from the London & SE League will be able to collect these on the day. You must present your Licence, and the number/chip must be returned after the event. It will be a real help if you can do this ASAP after your race ends.
After signing on the sheet, all riders must scan their chip at a separate desk manned by LCCA, this is a vital as any chips not scanned are not recorded by the timing equipment.
Riders should pin their numbers low on their back, and slightly to the left to enable the judges to see them clearly.

Yes - my thoughts on that particular message are probably best not recorded, even here

Onwards.
PS - congrats to Caroline on her second place and a medal. That was cool.

For those that weren't there, Steven is right. He was shit.
The rest of it wasn't though.
Well, waiting for results to be published, that's a little bit shit these days.

Re: SE/Eastern CX Champs
After the first lap and a half I settled into damage limitation mode with the remnants of a cold holding me back from the fight, for the second week. Glanced back every now and again to see who might be closing me down, couldn't see Stven's LP colours, disappointingly. Saw Max and Russ, the latter who strode up and passed only to then drop his chain and advantage. Greg Simcock recovered some places from his early race puncture and run to the pits, going past me on the final lap. Happy to have raced than not raced! What can you do when you're feeling under the weather? Sulk at home, drink more beer or just get on with it and enjoy what you can? And where did I come? Err, well the London League's timing system are welcome to put me anywhere on such a day. At least they were generous with my gridding, while putting some of the top boys on the fifth row apparently!? The tarmac start enabled all to find their natural places anyhow. Yeh, it was a good course, if but lacking a bit of mud that would've really made it. The sand pit was fun. I enjoyed getting the hang of riding the steep off camber too, after tripods on the first few laps. Opted to run the mountain, while I like to think on a stronger day I would've ridden it. Nearly did on the practice laps. Cyclopark seems to have really come along! Like the café. Perhaps Hog hill should take note? Good to see leagues converge; other crossers who I've not seen much of this season! Back to the good fight next sunday; in the Eastern league.
