London to Brighton off-road: 21st Sept 2019

Post by JackCurzon » Fri Sep 06, 2019 10:55 am

Title says it all. British Heart foundation organised ride on 21st of September. Anyone interested? Ditching Beacon off-road after 100km - how can you say no to a challenge like that!

Perfect XCM training (cough, cough)

Are you racing XCM next year then Jack?

Its a tentative yes from me as it fits my plan, I'll just negotiate the family diary and let you know...

I’d love to do at least one, but for now priority will be Beastway XC and MSG XCO. Great if you could do. I’m not sure if I’ll enter this one if it’s just me on my Jack Jones.

I’d love to do this although unlikely I can on that day. Do you have a route for it?

Is it more gravel bike or XC terrain?

The route is the British Heart Foundation site. I’d guess you could do it a gravel bike as it’ll mostly be bridleways.

I think I’d be up for a LP ride of the route the weekend after the official ride if that would help. I could make a donation to BHF directly for using their route.

I’d be able to do it the weekend after as a LP ride if that suits, but I’d kinda feel guilty as it’s for a charity...having said that, I just realised I could just donate the money anyway.

I’ve wanted to do
This route for a while, I can’t commit at the moment, won’t know until nearer the time something like 18th ish I suspect that won’t be an issue though to do a last minute entry

Jack, you still want to do this? I'd be with a 38mm gravel CX but pretty sure I'd be fine with it. I'm free to do it on Saturday. Registration has closed but that's never stopped me doing a ride...
