MTBer's unite - Exposure 24/12 2022

So we discussed this last night, there's enough people who'd enjoy some off road now that this event should be of interest enough to form a club contingent.

Exposure 24/12 is a large festival / family based event held annually on the last weekend of July at the XCO Championship level course at Newnham Park. Over the weekend various formats of MTB racing occur, from Enduro stages on Friday/Saturday, kids racing on Saturday morning and adults 8/12/24hr events from 11am Saturday. The event is held in a very large field on the Newham estate with the course flowing around it, where camper vans, caravans and tents are arranged outside of the arena with full water, shower and toilet facilities. There's even free beer on Friday night - yes free beer from the Dartmoor Brewery!

The area itself surrounds the course with a festival style music tent, various food popups - pizza ovens, a Thai bar, burgers, bacon, pasta, baked potatoes soup and of course multiple coffee stations as well as popular shop popups, - Schwalbe, Exposure, Pivot, Wiggle - with event discounts, . All in all its a great family/social weekend away in some stunning scenery with some serious or not so serious bike racing in the middle.

So, choices are 12 or 24 solo's pairs or teams of up to 5. The level of seriousness, numbers of laps etc are up to you - many come for the craic rather than for the results enjoying the experience of some great riding, perhaps having a bash at night riding on an XCO course, and having a beer (not at the same time, obvs). Ride what you like, at the pace you like, when you like. No pressure, simples

Hi all - well, exposure 24/12 and er... 6 is open for entry. Four days of what are a great MTB race focus family weekend of camping and glee are as follows:

Note as well as the usual 24 & 12hr races there is a 6hr option, a trail run and an MTB Enduro event.

As mentioned via WhatsApp, I'd really like to see if we can get some club participation in the event. There's no need to worry about race results or feel pressured into how many laps you do, a lot of people do this as teams for fun, to experience an event or night riding or just riding over 2 days with a BBQ and a beer in between. The campsite is very secure and has lots of kids running about so there are no issues to worry about their.

Importantly, there is a 15% discount for entries before 12th November this Friday. I'd be happy to organise an Team entry but could you please manage your own kids entries if needed. So if there are enough people interested in attending please add your name and preferred race distance and I'll do this for you on Friday. I'll start!
