ROC Scramble - November 2021

Post by Simon Goodwin » Sat Oct 16, 2021 11:00 am

Given it’s likely to be a bit on the chilly side I’d rather keep going than take turns and risk getting cold, so the 3 hour solo seems to fit the bill. For me, I think 6 hours in the mud in late November may detract from the ‘enjoyment’

But you'll be standing around for 3hours....

Ok wait so, in balance are we looking at 3 x pairs? With pairs these will be 6 smash laps, so you won't have much of a turnaround, about 20-30mins to refuel and go.

If I'm booking pairs, do we want 3 balanced teams or a competitive team? If we are being competitive I'd suggest - with the greatest respect - I put me and Jack together, if not:

a) Jack / Eran
b) Me / Simon
c) Ben / Brandon

I have secured a 10% club discount BTW, and need to book this week before I go on holiday for half term...

Good thinking - you should be a DS in your spare time It’s really up to you. My 2 cents is that I for one - and for sure being the weakest link - will enjoy (suffer?) the same if I’m in any pair. And it is a race after all. So for me it sounds like we might as well put the best foot (or pairings) forward perhaps? Will go with the flow though

I’m pretty relaxed either way. I will work hard, and have fun, but don’t expect to come anyway high up the field. Very happy if Jack/Stan want to take a more serious approach.

I’m happy to ride with Brandon as listed above, or anyone else.

Given the earlier notes, I’m going to do it on my cross and see how it goes.

And I don’t mind the fee hugely. £40 is okay if that’s what it is. But don’t mind doing it in pairs either. I will go with the flow.

Stan I’m happy to leave what we collectively do up to you. I suggest you and Jack pair up so you can put in a competitive effort, and presumably then pair me with Eran as we’re both relatively new to the MTB scene.
