LP sent some strong riders to these classic events for the second year in a row and although the day started with a right soaking en route from North London to London Bridge, thankfully it had stopped raining by the time the team got to Sevenoaks.

Stephen was the first Phoenix rider off on a course which was wet and slippery in parts, followed by Paul OS, Astrid and finally Paul S. Results posted confirm Paul OS as our fastest rider, with Stephen close behind. Astrid and Paul S both posted exactly the same time 3.00.4 – enough to get Astrid onto the podium as fastest woman vet.

Paul OS, Astrid and Paul S then carried onto the second pain festival at White Lane in the afternoon. The climb was still damp from the morning rain, and rear wheel spin was endemic on the steepest part of the climb near the top. Paul S posted 2.54 – a few seconds slower than last year, Astrid 2.56 and Paul claimed his new title of club hill climb champion posting a fantastic time of 2.20.8.
